    Message from Hammock Forums

Your Direct Messages are getting too full.
You must delete old messages, so that new messages can appear (this is paraphrased)

    I’m on TapaTalk
But I accessed Hammock Forums without TapaTalk

And I haven’t been able to figure a way to erase old Direct Messages

My membership should be up to date, I periodically send enough money to last 8 to 10 years of yearly membership dues.

I do not have a desktop computer, I have just my IPhone. Maybe I can’t see the section that says

    Phantom Erase old DM’s here

I’ve asked for help, and ask for help again to erase all my old DM’s from Hammock Forums

Also use Tapatalk. If you are in your message "inbox" you should be able to long hold on a message and get a selection of options, one being a trashcan symbol, that will let you get rid of old messages.
After long holding one message you should be able to select others if you want to throw out multiple messages.

I'm not on an iphone but do most of my forum using from a handheld instead of a desktop. Hope this helps.

Turn your phone sideways (maybe that will allow you to see more columns in your Inbox).

On the right there is a tiny box you can check for each message you wish to delete.
Then do the same for your "Sent" messages.
Delete all that you can live without.

    That should do it.

Thanks LowTech, I deleted them on TapaTalk, using trash can symbol. They disappear, but then reappear.
I’ll try your directions again, this time I’ll depress the trash can symbol for longer period of time.

    I’ll try again, thanks LowTech

And note the item to also delete out of the Sent folder. On another forum unrelated to hiking/camping, someone deleted all but like 2 from their Inbox, yet still got the messages. It was because they had some 100 in the Sent folder.

Another thought, take your logon credentials to a friends house or the local library, use their computer.

    Good luck.

    Message from Hammock Forums

I’m in process of trying LowTech’s advice.

From TapaTalk, go to sent or received DM’s
I then get one message and press trash can symbol, holding for a ten count.
Then that message shows on phone.
Then I press on those three dots in upper right hand corner of my screen.
Then a list of choices will appear
    Then I press delete
Then I go to next message, and so on

I believe this works, I’ve deleted all sent and received DM’s. I’ll check tomorrow to see if they are still deleted

    Thanks again LowTech!
    Thanks Rhjanes!
    Thanks Otter1!

I used LowTech’s solution and it does work. I might not have followed his directions exactly, but close enough.
My DM’s are completely cleared! Yea!
