    Damaged tarp ridgeline pullouts

    Morning all,

Was attaching split rings directly to the grosgrain loops on the ridge line of my DCF tarp to use with nama claws and a CRL. one of the rings snagged the grosgrain creating a pull in the material right in the middle of the loop. Everything still seems strong and intact. Anything to worry about? Again it’s a pull, not a tear, some of the weave seems to have just loosened a bit. I’ll post pics when I get a chance. Thanks

Melt it with a quick touch of a lighter or candle. It’ll sear the loose stuff and make it as strong as ever.

    Hey @Longggone,

I wouldnt worry about it as its not going to be under a significant load. Sear it or melt it as mentioned, or if it was mine, Id just not worry about it. Just keep an eye on it. You could also take some Kevlar thread and run some hand stitches through it.

    Have a good weekend.

Thanks for the reply Bob! I very lightly melted some of the loosest fibers and then set it up. Seems strong as anything. I’m going to take your advice and not worry about it. Have a great weekend!
