    Custom Multicam Rainfly

Just wanted to share a little project I'm working on. Still in the works but the gist of the fly is together. It disappears at 50yds the winter.

Looks pretty spiffy ... if you could see it? I mean after all it is camo! Ha!

So what's the material? Sil? Where did you find it? Inquiring old farts wanna know!

Yeah...sorry for the not so great pics. I really wasn't trying to take one of the fly in these pics. But these are the best I have right now.

As far as I know you can only get Multicam material from Durodyne. It's not cheap but it's worth it in my book. It's 70D 1.9oz Nylon FR Coated IR compliant. It's the exact same "base" nylon as an ENO rainfly but treated for FR and the IR spectrum. I have an ENO and my Multicam actually fits in the ENO storage bag. How convenient.

Don't tell anyone else where to get this. It's just our little secret.....

So it's 1.9 oz material with a 1.25 oz urethane coating on the back. So how much does your tarp weigh? Looks great but seems like it's going to be a bit heavy.

Pictures are fine ... I was just making a lame camo joke.

    Yeah...I'm with ya....

It's @ 1.5lb and measures 7.5'x10'. I am taking on a little weight here but I think it's worth it. Besides, there really wasn't any other choice in Multicam for this project.

Yeah ... know what you mean ... really like Marpat ... multicam and the others but just no one making sil material unless you do it yourself. Haven't taken that step yet ... but might have to down the road.

Wife's got too many spring Honey-do's waiting my return
