Got to spend a nice weekend with a fellow group of Montana ADV (adventure motorcycles) riders.

We rode about 450 miles over two days on asphalt, dirt, and two track through SW Montana. We had a lot of rain in the previous week and ended up turning back a time or two when we reached excessively muddy roads. With a lot of clay content, the roads can turn into greasy clutch-eating drop fests. These were roads we were riding for fun and did not have to cross, so a redirect was the best approach.

Came across a cow and calf moose in the Madison River. A dozen or so deer (one closer than I liked), dozens of antelope, and a huge flock of sheep that some shepherds were moving.

Camped at a gorgeous little lake on Saturday night. All in all a great weekend.
