IMPOSSIBLE JUST TAKES LONGER
That's pretty much what I had figured had happened, I'm fine with waiting if there isn't much interest. We'll get out next weekend one way or another.
Hike in:
Goose Creek to the Shafthouse. About 4 miles. Side trip to Harmonica Arch.
Short hike:
Rolling Creek Trailhead and hike south. There are a bunch of ridges that are excellent sites.
Car Camping:
Forest Service Road 550. No water, no fee.
From the north take 285 to Pine Junction then CR 126 south through Pine and Buffalo Creek. Turn west at the Colorado Trail signs and find a campsite along the road. I prefer near where the Sawmill Trail crosses 550.
From the south take 24 to Woodland Park then 67 to Deckers then 126 past Kelsy Campground to FS-550.
Take Momma to the Bucksnort Saloon on the way home to celebrate Mother's Day - nothing says MOM like the Bucksnort.

The Goose Creek one looks good to me...I've read in several places that it's a really nice area. Any other votes for that one?

I'm out for this weekend, unfortunately.
May has decided to become a crazy month and June isn't looking a whole lot better.
Trust nobody!
Goose creek looks amazing - I'd love to figure out a way to carry my crash pad in addition to my backpack so we could do some bouldering.
That slideshow is amazing...I could only see part of it b/c I need to get back to work, but I'm pretty excited about the trip.
I'll check on Joker's game Saturday and see what's a good time to make it down there. If it's a late afternoon game, I might skip it and go to Goose Creek on Friday evening.

IMPOSSIBLE JUST TAKES LONGER
MrsMustardman is probably working late Friday, so we will likely hike in on Saturday morning / afternoon. There is a slim chance we might end up staying until Monday, depending on our dog-watching situation.
Any thoughts on what weather to expect? We're still adjusting to the different conditions in the mountains.
