Thanks - can you advise footwear for snow base camping? - what do people normally wear - boots? bean mocs, trail runners? waterproof socks, bread bags?
    Thanks again

Most people wear boots....I sweat a lot through my feet, so I use a thin polyester dress sock first, then a plastic bag and finally a wool sock.....It helps a ton when I walk to the parking lot and back....it keeps the sweat from soaking into my boots and then freezing overnight

A good quality insulated Pac Boot works well. Take good care to water seal the leather uppers. My Salomons have lasted an eternity and fit the bindings on my snowshoes well. My Sorels don't take so well to my Kahtoola Microspikes, the Sorels are externally wider than the Salomons, so it's harder to fit the spikes on the Sorels.

Well, we are finally getting a good amount of snow this week in the mountains....around 40" - 50"....should make for another awesome hang next weekend!!!
Don't forget your Sno-park pass and 2-3 bundles of wood to go with all that stoke....

PSA- we have had a warm rainy start to the winter. So the lake will most likely have snow on it, but not enough solid ice to venture out on. So please use caution if you plan to go to the lake -PSA
