There are a lot of posts related to this sil tarp made by Equinox. It has grommets ... but I personally modified mine to use loops. I have the 8x10 and the 10x12 ... most excellent products especially when you can find it on sale. It happens ...

It is my go to tarp. Love it and have added Grizz beaks to it thanks to 2QZQ and the mind of GrizzlyAdams!

OH and a big NC welcome to the forums!!!!

I used my campmor 8x10 at the Jan Uwharrie HF campout and it rained all night. Didn't get a drop of water on me. I was a bit worried with the 10' ridgeline but it worked well. I would have to give it a thumbs up.

I have the 10 X 12 and have had great results. So far the grommets have held up. If they pull out I figure no prob. I'll just repair as needed with strap loops.
Hawk-eye, I didn't know that the Griz beak was available for this tarp. I'll have to check out with 2QZQ on this. I had them do the zipper mod on my Hennessy and I love it.

The Grizz Beak will work with virtually any tarp by design. That's one of the beauties of Grizz's design. You won't be disappointed in anything 2QZQ do ...

Oh and here's the mod I made to my Equinox to take the load off the grommets. Works great ... did it with Grossgrain folded double.

Easy to do and gives a better tie off point.

Some of the grommets on mine ripped out of the tarp on a windy day, so I sent it back and bought a Mac Cat Deluxe. No problems since.

Had mine two and a half years ... only the last year with the mod's shown above .. not a single problem along any of the grommets ... but any grommet is a weak point on sil in my opinion. Little time with a thread injector and you're good to go.

Thanks for the pics of your strap mods. I don't know how to use a sewing machine but I have a way with seam sealer and hand stitching that works pretty good. I think I will add these to my tarp.

Does anyone know the actual weight of this 10by12 tarp?

    Thanks!
