Insultex All-in-One: Poncho, Quilt, Sleeping Bag, More?

Did anyone else see this? In my research on Insultex this week, I came across this interesting piece of gear: IDI Gear's All-in-One Convertible Sport-Pack.

It reminds me of the Military Poncho Liner that many have used to create DIY under quilts. My one irritation with the Military Poncho Liner is that you cannot wear it as a poncho liner (e.g., as a poncho/under a poncho) -- it was intended as a make-shift field sleeping bag liner with the poncho as a waterproof shell.

The IDI poncho liner adds features I wanted, including a slit for your head and a zip-out hood!

I'd like to get one and see how much it weighs and if it can be converted into a DIY under quilt.

By itself, it makes for a great multi-use item.

i saw it and bought 3

    dehoja

I purchased three of these from scottsoutdoors.com [Florida] at a price of about $19 each. I believe they do not have any more, but I also purchased 8 [1 layer] I.D.I. Gear jackets and three pair of like pants. They still have the jackets, though only in Mossy Oak camo. Great deal on the items. The jackets are about $24 [retail $100]. I have been very pleased with them. BTW, I'm not sure of the exact weight, but for the most part, it's negligible. Weighs a few ounces. I have not ever used it, furthermore, I haven't even taken it out of the cover. But after contacting IDI, they assured me that it could be utilized as a flotation device and that it would keep someone topside when in the water. The jacket and pant have kept me as warm as a Pop-Tart while high in treestand, during high wind and rain. A word of caution, these clothing items are not congruent with periods of high physical exertion.

That's what I've found... needs pit zips like on a Packa, or something like that so's you can ventilate.
