Mines a target scale. However, I stand on the weight scale w/ and w/o the pack to see if my numbers are close. I find a weight scale isn't as accurate as a kitchen scale.

Harbor Freight sells a good scale, battery operated or plug-in. You can get it on-line or in store if you have a Harbor Freight nearby. It won't weigh your whole pack at once, but it is good to 11 lbs.

I've got this one and it's worked very well. The tare feature is nice when you have something oddly shaped, you can just put a box on - set the tare - and put your stuff in the box.

I have one of the Wally kitchen scales that seem pretty close but I also just got the one the USPS sells though their supplies store. $35 + shipping but seems more accurate than the other and has a slightly bigger platform and easier to switch from OZ to Grams.

I got a weighmax scale off ebay thru a company called JustPounds. It cost 1 cent + 15$ shipping. It will weigh up to 35lbs with .1 oz/1gram accuracy. The first one they shipped did not work. while it took some effort and a little more time that I wanted, they replaced it without me sending the broken one back.

What brand/kind of scale do you recommend? What is the cost? Best places to buy? Any other info you can think of?
I recommend buying used, high-quality commercial scales.

I bought a counting scale for $140 which has a capacity of 30 kg and a resolution of 1 g.

    I also have a smaller Ohaus ($80 used): 200 g @ 0.01 g.
