    Newbie in NYC

I have been backpacking and camping for most of my adult life. For a couple of seasons now i have been bringing an ENO Doublenest along for the hike not to sleep in but to hang in and read during the day with the wife. Recently I've decided to give in to the idea using the hammock as my primary shelter. I just ordered a tarp and a bug guard and looking forward to my first night in my hammock. Any advice would be appreciated.

Welcome from the heartland! You're off to a good start, bur based on experience here at HF, you need to clean out the coat closet for the gear you're going to want!

Above all else you're going to need underside insulation, unless it's very warm out (70-75F+). Closed cell foam pads are the cheap and easy solution. Under quilts are pricey but a lot more comfortable.

Thanks for the invite, but I have a Boy Scout event this weekend.
