If you're buying ripstop from Joann's, make sure to bring a coupon. You can usually get 40-60% off the 7.99$ a yard which drops the cost down to $3.20-$4.80 per yard. The coupons apply to one cut... but a 10 yard bolt is 1 cut I am having difficulties finding Walmarts that sell fabric near me (North Dallas). I'm 240 lbs and the hammock that I made didn't seem to have any stretch issues on the first use. I'll camp on it all weekend this weekend.

I got this same type of stuff at a Marden's for a buck a yard, and it's wide too. I have so much just laying around from all these projects. Works well for some things, not as well for others. Definitely calendared nylon.
