Great Tip... That's a heck of a lot easier than thinning regular household silicone... It's time to re-seal the RV windows anyway, maybe I have a dual use...

Check out this thread. I used Permatex, the stuff worked great, no mixing involved. Very easy to apply, id suggest sealing the underside of the tarp first for pratice so when you do the outside it will look nice and neat (that is if you do, do both sides). I used the index finger application and it was very easy.

    Hey guys -

I'm getting ready to seal seal my DIY tarp. Now, do I want this on the top or bottom? Said, finished or unfinished seam? :S

    thanks!

Kinda like the Ford vs Chevy argument ... some like top, some bottom ... and some both sides. I've always done the bottom and have had zero issues with seams over the years.

    LB:
I have done both the topside and underside of the seam. I think it was overkill but after having a seam leak on me one time I was not letting it happen again. If you use the Permatex sealer I don't think you will have a problem if you keep the ridgeline pulled taught. Let the sealer set for 24 hrs before you untension the ridgeline.

Awesome. Wow, I felt like a moron asking that. I did a flat felled seam so the bottom should be easy to do.

    Thank you for the help

Good lord don't let that bother you ... better to ask a question than screw something up! Done that enough myself!
