I see that the already made quilts on the website weigh around 1.5lbs can the same be said for the diy kit?

You get to make what ever you would like with the kit, it's just a parts starting list, so if you make something with the same design and dimensions as any of the KAQ's then yah you should come out very close to the same weight. But you could mod a kit into any custom quilt you want and have higher or lower weighs accordingly.

Found a bit of Universal Digital polyurethane coated fabric today that I have added as an option for Super Dinner Bivys, Hammock and Tarp bags.

I also have 10 yards that I will offer up at $3.50 per yard for who ever would like some mid weight fabric.
