    Exclamation Bay Area Hang

Thought I'd start a new thread because there are a few new hangers from the Nor*Cal area and they've shown interest in getting together for a hang.

Orangebananas suggested Henry W. Coe State Park as a possible destination. After checking out the website, I think it's a good idea.

I figure we need 1: a location, 2:a date, and 3: number of people.

    So, any other ideas?

I'm up for Henry W. Coe just about any weekend (once my hammock returns from 2QZQ)!

If folks don't wanna walk too far, the Ridge View campsite has lots o' nice trees for hanging. It's also close by a field, so we could walk out 'n stargaze. It's an easy, short walk too...I go there to hang with a friend who has rheumatoid arthritis. The only problem is, the Ridge View camp site doesn't have any running water nearby.

There are lots of great campsites at Henry W. Coe, though.

Jareth, sounds like you have a pretty good knowledge of HW Coe as compared to me. I can walk as far as I can stay awake, but a short trip sounds nice. I think it'll give everyone a chance to meet other hangers and check out their gear without having to commit too much effort. It also makes it available to more people.

The campsite you mentioned sounds very nice, however I'm alittle concerned about the lack of water you also mentioned. Any other suggestions?

I like this idea. I like the idea of a shorter walk. As long as there's water on the way in and folks remember to tank up, I don't suppose that'd be too much of an obstacle. As long as it's not too hot.

There was a Backpacking Camp Trip scheduled for somewhere in the park for this weekend, but it was cancelled due to "weather." Somehow, I don't think that meant sunshine and lite breezes, so we should be fine as far as heat goes. Besides, I have a newish Spinn Deluxe from OES that I'm itching to field test, as well as a new ridgeline and support ropes for it. I'll probably put it up even if there's no rain scheduled.

As far as the water goes, the website says to contact the park for updates before heading out because water sources tend to dry up in summer. So we can contact them once we get a location alittle more narrowed down to see how that will play out. Glad to see the participation. I think we're overdue for a propper meet-and-hang.

    When is everyone available?

Dates that I have available: Weekends of May 29, June 5, June 12, any weekend in July, and the weekends of August 7th, 14th, and 21st.

Well, Memorial Weekend would be the logical choice, but I understand if it's too soon for some and need it pushed out a few weeks. Also, with the registration being first come-first served, there will be alot more competition for Memorial Weekend.

I'm game for Memorial Weekend (Friday May 28 - Monday May 31) as long as we can agree on it.

I would swing for Memorial first, but June 12th weekend is a good backup. Eay, how worried are you about not getting home by Monday? I also agree that July will be too hot, given that I'm not very familiar with the area.

I have a gig (music) Monday morning in Roseville, so I'd have to leave Sunday evening. Which could work.
