Portable hammock stand for car camping

This is an idea I have been thinking of as I only have one good tree at home to hang from. Stand would be made up of two 7' long 3/4" black steel pipe consisting of (2) 2' sections and (1) 3' section with standard pipe connectors and two end caps to keep it from burying itself in our loose sand here in Florida. Pipe would be free standing with 2 10' long guy lines and two pieces of 1/2 rebar to hold the guys out at 8' with top at 6'. I can't find any information on deflection and compression strength of 3/4" pipe on line. Any Engineer types that could tell if this would work or would it need to be bumped up to 1" pipe. This stand would be for car camping as the weight wouldn't appeal to backpackers. Sorry if this is an old idea but I couldn't find any threads on the site like this one.

This site has been great for newbies like me, keep up the great work.

I think youll be OK on the compression side of things.

Deflection... If you can bring your guy lines up to the same point at which you attach your hammock suspension, deflection will be kept to a minimum as the forces will travel down the length.

Price difference is 27.22 for 3/4 and 39.45 for 1" plus tax of course with all parts avail at Home Depot. Weight would be significantly more for the 1" also. I also like to over engineer when possible.
