    On long hikes I carry two 20oz generic bottles for regular use, plus an empty 3L Platy in my pack for one stop water gathering when reaching camp. The 3L plus 40oz is enough for dinner, breakfast, and still leaves the two 20oz bottles full to begin hiking the next day.

    I use a SmarTube. Hands free and they have cap adapters for most any bottle out there.
