    DIY hammock tight edge Problem

Indoors I sleep in the Traveler and a couple of DIY's <-- sort of like changing the sheets
The hammocks I've made are longer than the Traveler and very comfortable
once your in them the problem is getting out or sitting on them as they are
deep and the edge is tight and higher than the main body of fabric.
How do you fix this? I gather the ends warbonnet style and the fabric
is a plain rectangle. Should the long edges bow in to lower the edge?
I'm getting better with the Thread Injector but need help in the design
    department.

If you have a ridge line try shortening it. This should create more sag and loosen those tight edges.

The sag is set fine, I can lay very flat and comfortable, it's around 30 deg and I have played with that a bit...I do wish that were the problem.
The wally ripstop fabric is around 60" wide so when in it you can turn most any angle
but it is deep even when I'm out of the hammock the edges are oh 15-18" higher than
    the mid main body.
Brian’s Traveler which I love too much to dissect lays flat and sits wonderful.

The problem is probably in the whipping. You have the outside edges pulled out too much. This creates the problem you described.

I find this very strange. If it's not the ridgeline, then it has to be the ends, either in the whipping or if the ends are not cut exactly 90* for a perfect rectangle.

What's most intriguing, is that the Warbonnet style whipping causes the edges to be floppy, rather than tight. Very strange indeed.

Thanks Sclittlefield it was the whipping on the diy I'm using at the moment
I'd forgotten that I'd redone the ends between washings and had pulled the ends as
Hangnout had mentioned, this has been driving me nuts for a week!
I was at work when I posted, I just got home and put the whipping back warbonnet style and everything is good now.
It's amazing how pulling the ends out an inch on the whip can make such a huge difference on the comfort and usability of the hammock.
    Thanks again guys.

I had that problem and changed my folds... the problem disappeared. Pull the middle and have the ends shorter. It will make the hammock bed shallower and have loose sides.
