    Loch Long - Scotland

Just got back from a couple of nights out on Loch Long, a sea loch on the west coast of Scotland. I had a new canoe to break in and the barnacles and limpets made a good job of doing that
Had another couple of cosy nights out with my BB and Snugfit, along with a DD 3x3m tarp and my Alpkit down bag.
We generally chilled around camp for the three days, getting up to all sorts of bushcraft magic and tom foolery.
I went for a hike on the first morning to check out a nearby bothy, then spent the afternoon exploring the woods and collecting pine resin
Lots of unsuccessful fishing missions filled most of the next day, we got to paddle with a group of porpoises though

I did something really dumb after getting up there which meant I lost half a days paddling, not telling you what though

So some pics, hope you enjoy ....

Car loaded up at 05:30 on Friday morning, 6 hours and 275 miles later I'll be at the RP.

View from the fire on night one

Shots of camp in the morning

    A few "new boat" shots

Stephen off for a bit of fishing

Me and Josh went for a tandem trip up to a nearby bothy and got to paddle with a bunch of porpoises (we think). No porpoisesy shots from me but Josh got some crackers.
    View back to camp

Packed up and away this morning, gutted as usual

Some more pics here if you like what you see

yeah, I'm always forgetting my tree-huggers too, leaving them on the tree. Comes from using the Marlin Spike hitch

Thanks for the pics. Brings back fond memories of a weekend I had last summer on Loch Ken with a couple of HF members from your island.

This will sound silly, but what model VW is that and does it get good gas mileage? I'm car shopping.

As always with your canoe trips, dig the scenery. Makes me want to trace my roots back as far as I can as an excuse to visit the region of scotland they were from.

It's a Scirocco, not sure if they're available over there or not though.

Economy wise it's not great, I average around 38mpg on a good run.
