Ditching toggles for tarp, Need knot help

What I did was prior too attaching the continuous ridgeline I larksheaded the prussic to one D-ring pulled the ridgeline through (did untie this one), then I slid the other prussic off the line and used a small/short cut off end of a used pen ink tube and slid the prussic onto that , tied the larkshead to the other D-ring and then slid (took a couple tries) the prussic back onto the ridgeline!

Ok im officially going with permanent tiny spliced loops that will go behind the overhand knot i tied in the prussic. This will connect it to the tarp and the tarp to the prussic. I will use regular nacrabiners for my tree huggers. Thanks everybody who offered ideas, although i didn't adopt all your suggestions, i learned alot, which is priceless. thanks again.

exactly what i was looking for, i assume your using dynaglide/amsteel. perfect, thanks. Just what i was looking for, no increase in weight. Even better than the continuous loop b/c no weight added. are you using dynaglide 2.2mm? I knew there was a way to do this, but it had never occured to me to use the pen, the pen was the part i was missing.

Just mocked up the cow's hitch or larks head idea. I think I like it. This way you could get rid of the D ring and larks head a loop with a diamond knot at the end to the GG of your tarp. Then you just larks head your prussic onto the loop. As I recall fromt the narabiner testing, the diamond knot is more than strong enough here.

Actually to be honest I don't know what it is!? It's Opies ridgeline kit if that help's!?

You can use anything that is of a small diameter, I just had a used pen ink cartridge around, I tried using it whole (without cutting it) and was hard to fit through the prussic/continuous loop so I cut it so that it would fit!

When I made my tarp ridgeline, I larksheaded one d-ring, then I took my other continuous loop and made a prusik onto a tube from a cheap pen. Then I larksheaded the loop to the tarp and passed the ridgeline through the tube. EASY and no knots that slip undone.

EDIT: Well, started to reply, then answered phone, came back, finished, submit and........It's already there! Oh well.

excellent idea.i like it.the two piece nacrabiner.that pic is worth a thousand words
i may sew them right to my tarp,next to the loops

Don't understand the problem.

I just use trail stick toggles, very light carry weight

Shove Prussic loop (traditional or Penberthy) through D-ring as you have pictured and insert trail stick toggle, pull tight.

If you want the tarp and ridge line permanently connected, then larks head the loop to the D-ring. Again zero added carry weight.
