    Sounds interesting

This is probably strange for a first post, but I might be interested if I can convince my wife to hang with us. PM to canoe will be incoming shortly.

    Hey, not so strange. Welcome.

I sent you a PM with the map to the Secret Location.

Everyone who has expressed an interest should have the map link (if not, let me know).

By mid week I'd like to get a head count estimate for the Dutch oven chili (ya'all like chili an curnbred, dunt'ch ya?)

The points on the map mark the small primary and alternate parking spots, and the cabin for reference (not available for use). It will be a short hike (maybe a 1/4 mile) across the valley over the creek (foot bridge) and up the hill into the woods. I will mark the trail with small surveyor's flags.

Potable water (or natural spring water if you choose) will be available.

    I'm in!

The wife is kicking me out for the weekend because of all the work I've done around here lately. She knows if I don't go, I'll just find a new project to start.

She wants me to get back into my average of at least 40 nights out a year again. It's been three years since that.

Mostly weekends where I blast out for some trail, but at least two big trips a year and one or two four dayers.

Sorry for the delay...way busy at work.

I sent the GPS coordinates to you by PM.

Anybody else who is going and needs them just send me a PM.

Look like the weather is going to be perfect! (mid 70's to mid 80's)

    ATTENTION:

You should expect to encounter deer ticks galore. Lyme Disease is endemic in this part (and most of) Wisconsin.
Be prepared and spray down a change of clothes with permethrin spray a day or two before and let them dry thoroughly. I do my socks, hat and even underwear, and have yet to get a tick embedded.

Will be selecting my final chili and cornbread recipes. You like it hot, right?

    Thumbs up

Last call (soon) for the Hangout this weekend.

    So far I have:

    Kayaknut01 (?2)
    SirNothing (?2)
    Lorax (1)
    aprarye (1)
    Riurrfreshrar (1)
    Me (1)

I will be getting Saturday Night chili ingredients tonight, so an approx head count would be good, but there should be plenty for last minute deciders. Looks like great weather.

I will be leaving for there sometime probably early Friday afternoon.
So any last minute communication should be before tomorrow morning. (or contact Kayaynut01 for details.) Everyone should have a Google map link to get there. (printout the detail of the turn off from Hwy 18/151 because it's easy to miss the turn onto the named quarry road). If you need the GPS lat/long coordinates, let me know.

Bring a folding chair if you wish, or let me know and I'll bring an extra.

    See yo there!
