I am planning this weekend to go to the fabric store and get what I need to make a hammock. Question is what kind of thread to use? I know what fabrics just not the thread. Thanks

Polyester
Gutterman is a good brand.

A good quality home sewing thread is entirely adequate. No need to get into the exotic industrial threads. It is unlikely a fabric store would carry those anyway. If you are really paranoid you might look for UV resistant outdoor thread. Just make sure it is 100% polyester.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

Gutterman or Mettler are really top notch polyester threads ... strong, and don't have some of the issues I've seen with cheaper threads. For the amount of DIY I actually do I think either of these two brands of 100% polyester work without causing me grief ... and that works for me!

Polyester. Walmart has it. I think for a 200yd spool it was around $4. More than plenty. I just finished my DIY Hammock, bought 2 spools, but didn't even finish one of them.
Make sure the thread is not too thick, most home machines don't like the thick thread.
Polyester 100%
Guttermans
Any uv resistant thread I've found is thick, ymmv.
Ambulo tua ambulo.
