    Hammock Storage between trips?

Is everyone keeping their hammocks stuffed in a sack or wrapped in a skin for those periods between trips? Just wondering if anyone has found problems from long term storage in a skin or stuff sack.

As long as you put it away clean and dry it does not matter much how it is stored long term. Mine are out of the stuff sack more than in though I just can't go more than a few days with out hanging them at least inside. Got to lounge

Agreed, as long as it's clean and dry, it should be fine. As a tent camper I had to store my tent open and hanging in order to preserve the urethane coatings, heavier materials and keep the shockcord in the poles from over stretching. Constant folds in the material; and poles that are stored collapsed, are the enemies of tents, not hammocks.

Trekkers montra, keep it clean---keep it dry and hope a little birdy doesn't drop white stuff in your eye. Wow, only a cooool cat like me could come up with such a really "hep" saying like that!

Yeah, in an ideal world, I wouldn't have to ask this question!

Would a moderator could please delete this thread? It contradicts what I've told my wife.

"We need a hammock room to store the expensive hammocks, because we can't keep them compressed, which would destroy them."
