    bug net dimensions?

    Hawk-eye or Tinker

I really like this idea, and you have all of the features I have been thinking on.

Can you sketch, or dimension the bug net? for the tieouts and for size?

That is all that I lack to start injecting.

    Thanks TZ

Couldn't stand it any longer ... ripped out the netting and panels last night ... re-positioned them and re-sewed the netting with 1/4" black bias tape. Neater, cleaner and all but one mistake is gone. Now my seams aren't that much straighter but I won't be so ashamed to show it to Jerry next Saturday!

As long as it hangs and is comfy I don't think the wavy stitching is gonna matter! Either way it still looks awesome!!!!

Have you seen his work? Amazing thread injection work!

Thanks for the compliment ... Jerry really nailed the concept.

Well I was inspecting my gear, before our next outing to the AT, and found a flaw in the hammock that I made 2 years ago.

I had planned on making a Jerry 5 when I got time but now it became a priority.

Following the information available here, and on the thread Jerry posted http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=16164 I started cutting material and putting it together.

Everything went smoothly until the bug net dimensions, so I kind of winged it there. Used a cat cut for the top, and more net for the sides. No Bias tape, rolled seam and double stitched. I have found that this is usually strong enough for my use.

It is VERY ROOMY, I have only napped in it but also Very comfortable.

Also made a new set of Amsteel 7/64 Whoopies for it, a Zing it ridgeline, and an IX 2 layer underquilt.

Complete weight, with suspension, 600 grams, about 21 ozs

A BIG thank you to Jerry and Hawkeye for posting the information.
Also Thanks to Mac for his info on the quilt.

When I get back, end of July, I will post more info.
