    Doh! Bought the wrong kind of straps

    Wound up hanging the hammock at almost chin height. I'm 5'7" and once I got in I was about 10" from the ground. Whoppies from Warbonnet are on the way already. In the picture I took the hammock was below the back pack after I got in it. Lay was great though and the Army 30* bag with bivy + windshield reflector worked pretty good. Nice 30 min nap out in the woods.

    If I remember correctly, Nylon will stretch a bit every time, polypropylene stretches the first few uses (but once it stretches a few times it keeps that length), and Polyester barely stretches at all.

    It sounds like you've got Nylon straps or you jumped the gun a bit with polypropylene and didn't allow for the "break in" period.
