Thanks BillyBob! Good to know we're in your old stomping grounds. It is indeed pretty country out there. Let us know when you are passing through and we'll schedule a special hang up there. And bring along your buddy Shug!

I used to come in from the North and camp right on the edge of the Rim at Prom Butte, looking down on where you guys were on your hike/camp! That is a wonderful spot! Good report!

    Arizona Hang

Thanks for the posting Drewboy and the terrific pictures; and thanks again to Roadtorque who worked so hard to organize the Arizona outing.

Jacob and were not able to attend due a sudden death in the family. I just couldn't "rally up" last week to let everyone know in advance that we would be AWOL from the trip.

I wish we could have been with all of you for what was apparently a great event.

Been backpacking in that area my self, Beautiful, just up from Christopher Creek Store. I've seen Mountain Lion on the Red Rocks to the West of See Canyon High Line Trail. If you get a Chance try Horton Springs(pops right out of the canyon wall) And forms Horton Creek. Plenty of trees and twilit at mid day. About 3.5 miles from parking lot and then you could hike north 2 miles to the West side of Promontory Butte, it's just 2000' up in Elevation from the Spring. Milk Ranch point is another good area to Hang, That's where that logger got abducted by Aliens.(Fire in the Sky)

I've been pretty much all over that Superstition range. I recall seeing a plane wreckage somewhere to the left of the trail leading up to the Flatiron.

Yea, west of the Peralta Trail up the mountain. Had a Friend come out from Texas one year and we did the Hardy boys clue hunting, fallowing the Lost Dutchman Clues. Boy that was fun, researched the Heard Museum, Mesa Museum,Peralta Stones, Libraries. Went to Weavers Needle, up Camp Creek to the East side of Desert Mountain Country Club. up Kentuck Mtn (I think that was the one). The history and Clues added up and then to see the land marks still there. Spaniards Stone Astra, Calvary stone outpost. A lot of history in Arizona, Everywhere you look another story.
