    Greeting from Alabama

Starting reviewing this forum a few months back and am grateful for all of the information that everyone shares with the group. However, the more I read, the more I start questioning any purchase. But after reading the post, I feel I am not the only one.

I bought a hammock to go with my travels on my motorcycle. I must admit I tend to set it up in the backyard along a creek that run through the back of our property more than I use it with the bike. And because of some back issues, the hammock is a great way to reduce stress that allows me to gently fall off to sleep.

Currently own an ENO doublenest, with Bug Guardian. I am currently researching for a tarp for me and a complete setup for the wife...even if it is setting up by the creek...that's ok with us. Would have bought another ENO system today, but the outfitter I talked with has a less than stellar inventory and even less knowledge of their products.

Who knows, now that I am retired, my start my own "hangaround" shop.

Thanks again for all the help and letting me lurk around.

    Greetings from Texas

Welcome to the forums. It's always nice to get new members.

I can understand your confusion on what to purchase. I would suggest doing your homework and purchasing what you think works best for you.

I decided the type and brands I would buy based on my climate and the type of camping I do the most.

In the end, if the brand (ENO, Henessey, Warbonnet..etc) works for you and makes you happy, stick with it.

We Hammock hangers are an opinionated lot. We get rather obsessed with the brand of hammock, tarp etc we hang with. Welcome to the madness.

Pilot, welcome from another Bama hanger! What outfitter did you visit? I have to ask cuz I work for one... I'll see if I can help with the ENO stuff, especially if it's one of our stores... (Alabama Outdoors).

No, it wasn't one of your Alabama stores. I am in KY for Derby week and checked a large outfitter up here. I have purchased some of my stuff from your stores and your employees are some of the best I have come in contact with.

Welcome to HF from another Gulf Coast hanger/motorcyclist. If you want to see any other hammocks like the Warbonnet products you are welcome to contact me and I'll show you what I have.

    John,

Thanks for the offer to get together. When I get back home, I will let you know. Being a newbie, I would love to get some expert advice.
