    Hi From GA

    Hi Guys

A new hammock-er?? here. Just brought a ENO doublenest and have spent a few evenings hanging around in my yard this last week. I am looking to see if there are any people from north GA that can help show me the ropes (so to speak) on hammock camping.

I moved to GA from the UK about 4 years ago and find it very beautiful here. I have been car camping with my family a few times but couldnt get on with the whole sleeping on the ground thing. I'm hoping i'll get less aches in a hammock and more time in the wilderness this year.

Anyway new(ish) to camping, absolute virgin to hammock camping, any help would be appreciated ...oh and ive been looking around the forum for about a week or so, its very informative

    later guys

Welcome to HF from Alabama GGT. That is some beautiful country that you live in over there. Watch the listed video series, it has some great information and one heck of a great main actor. Enjoy the ENO and hanging around with the family and new friends here at HF.

Hey GGT, I am from Canton Ga, and there are plenty of great places to enjoy hammock camping around here.

Check out the Cohutta Wilderness, Red Top Mountain, or the Etowah Trail (Day Hike but nice a quiet.

If you have questions let me know, and Good Luck

Congrats GGT on getting off the ground. Heard it said that hammocking is an art. Its not that hard, but there are some complexities in terms of getting the "most" comfortable. I wonder what folks back home would think if you told them you were looking for a more comfortable lay?

I'm in metro Atlanta, so next time I'm out - which isn't really often - I'll see if you're interested in "hanging". Best advice I can give is to just ask questions, get out and hang, then ask more questions - repeat as needed.

Welcome to the forum. I am relatively new myself and havd found an information overload here on HF. I am just south of you in Columbus, Ga. Watch out for that introvert SHUG.
