    Greetings from Poland

    Hi there!

I'm from the silly place called Poland It's a really cold place.
I spent the first 25 years of my life in a place called Mazury ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masuria ), now I live my frugal life in Grudziądz. I'm hiking "since forever", but the idea of hammock camping came to me during this prolonged winter.
Some of you know me from the YT, I'm the guy that breaks a needle file with bare fingers in his only video posted so far

    Short bio:
    28, male, obese.
    I like cats.

My greatest passion (occupation, study subject, ended with the diploma after 18 years of education...) are the graphic design and fine arts - all the aspects: photography, video, animation, visual communication, veejaying, typesetting, DTP & pre-press, illustration, concept design, I even did some live-coding.
I work as a freelancer, 90% of it is typesetting for a major "medical information" publishing company - simple, boring jobs done for small, but consistent income.

I'm interested in really various things, some of it find their way to my blog (linked in profile, there is no "hammock entry" yet), most of it - no. From furniture design to cRPG development, from quantum physics to self-immolations.

I'm doing annual pinhole photography workshops with students from Olsztyn.

My current setup is 90% DIY:
gathered-end Hammock (quite thick polyester cloth, 3x1,5m) suspended on heavy polyester line with hanging knots modified to hold on this line.
The tarp is my next big DIY project. And a backpack (I use marine-type bag ATM)
What else you might be interested in? My stove is so far modified cone zone (still in tests, I burn isopropyl, did I mention Poland is silly place to live?).

    Cheers,
    Luke

Welcome to the forums Luke, my ancestors were from Poland back in the late 1800's. My mother's name was Regynski and her mothers name was Poboloski.

Definitely, a big welcome! It's great to see our family extending to even more places around the globe.

Welcome, Luke! In the historical novel I'm reading right now, it is Sept. 1939 and WW2 is just about to start with the invasion of Poland! You are (hammock) hanging in a land of MUCH history ( I guess I don't have to tell you!).
