I'lll have to say that I also trust HH cords. I cut most of mine off and added straps. But the cords looked strong.

This talk of weak cords make me think of testing the breaking strengh. The only thing I cam come up with is tieing one end to a fixed object and pulling it behind my car.

I don't think your Mitsubishi has enough torque to break spectra! (god..I'm cracking myself up today!)
