    Greetings all,

I recently became interested in hammocks when it became obvious I will have a kayaking trip down the coast of Kauai in June. While we may well have showers the first night, we should be clear the rest of the time, and bugs are not usually a problem.

Thus, the interest! I am appalled at all the decisions I need to make, and for what may well be a one-time hanging adventure. I now travel mostly with what we call the Jillmobile: a 4x4 camping van. I am looking at a simple hammock,
although it is easy to see how people get sucked in! So much info, so many choices...

Welcome to the forum. In the beginning it can be a bit overwhelming as we try to get the perfect system for our needs when actually some of that we won't know till we get out there. Thankfully allot of the stuff around the forum has been tested allot and if you buy something that's popular you pretty much can't go wrong. You might be surprised how comfortable a hammock is and decide to do it more. Good luck

Welcome to the forums. If you have any sewing skills it is quite easy to make your own hammock from a few yards of material. See the info on JustJeff's site.

Lots of choices is you are buying. If you don't need a bug net then you can pick up a hammock for pretty cheap. there are lots of opinions on which to get. ENO makes nice hammocks for cheap. The Warbonnet traveler is a good choice. Many more!

I've always made the decisions easy by limiting myself to what I can make. good luck.

Welcome to HF.....My name is bigbamaguy and I have an addiction. Or atleast that is how I think the opening line to and Anonymous meeting goes!!!!!!! Look at the ENO Single or Doublenest hammocks. They are confortable hammocks and priced for most budgets. They make great yard hammocks for relaxing after work!!!!
