Linking "Random Photos" to Their Threads?

When I log in (and even before), there are three "Random Photos" at the top of the home page. Often, one or more of them will grab my attention and I will click on them (as is the intention), but that's as far as it can go. Is it possible to have a link to the thread in which the image appears as part of the image information page? It would be great to be able to quickly find the discussion that is relevant to an image that catches my eye and learn more about what I'm seeing.

The gallery functions independently of the forums, so there's not always a thread associated with that particular image. You can comment on the images, though, and you can search the forums for that image title, or even by the username of who posted the image.

We'll brainstorm of ways we can connect an image to a thread...maybe putting tags on image pages as well, so you can search the tags and get relevant threads. That would at least be one step closer to what you're asking.

In a word, no. Those photos are randomly selected from the gallery, and are uploaded there independently of the discussion threads. In many cases the photos don't actually get posted in a discussion.

You can take note of the author of the photo, though, and search their post history for more information...

But you gotta admit it would be a really cool feature. Although maybe you guys don't notice it as much since you were here when those pics were originally discussed (assuming they ever were). For those of us who only found this bar&grill recently, there are a lot of those pics that look really cool but it's often really hard to find the context.

I've done the searches, as you suggest, and it can be done, but it's cumbersome. Thanks for agreeing to look into the possibility.

Talk about linking random photos...look at gargoyle's post above!

If a search doesn't find any info, start a thread and paste that photo into it, asking what the context is. If it was discussed, someone will probably post the link. If it wasn't discussed, you've started something good.
