Well I just got myself a jonboat!!!! So instead of bringing my canoe I'll probably be in my motorboat, so I should be able to give someone a lift over to the island if needed, I'll be bringing my kayak too, just for some paddlin' fun!!

So here's the deal with the shrimp. The guy I usually buy fresh shrimp from hasn't returned any of my last 4 calls to him this week. I'm not above driving to charleston, sc to pick some up from Mount Pleasant, but I really don't think it's necessary.
Shrimp is pretty much shrimp. I can probably pick some up a few days prior to the trip, but that means that those who intend to partake in the frogmore should contribute to the shrimp. I wish I could drop a hundred bucks on frozen shrimp.
This doesn't include the fact that we need a couple 35lb propane cylinders, a couple propane burners, one or two "turkey fryer" pots, a sturdy table to set this all up on and condiments for shrimp, potatoes and corn. Oh, and a few gallons of water that doesn't come out of a lake. Sorry folks, you can boil out all the nasty stuff that will make you sick, but you can't boil out chemicals, oil or gas or funky taste.
If you folks can look at the logistics of getting all this stuff together and you still want to have a frogmore, then I'll start a sign-up list for who is bringing what and I'll coordinate taking up donations for the cost of shrimp. I can probably get my hands on a propane cylinder and burner and pot.
Otherwise, I'm perfectly content burning a couple slabs of red meat over hot coals.

Getting the water will be a non-issue if we have the containers to put it in. I also have a turkey fryer with lp tank that I can bring with 1 turkey frying pot w/ strainer and lid. I'll look and see what I can find as far as tables go and what my in-laws have. My in-laws have a pontoon boat on the lake so getting the larger items to the island shouldn't be an issue. I don't think I can get hold of some additional stoves so maybe someone can get those???
I don't think there is any reason not to do the "boil" unless we just want to go in another direction all together.

That'll work for water containers.

I will bring a Burner and propane, but I cannot seem to find my pot, I will keep looking for it, but if I don't get one by then hopefully someone has an extra pot they can bring along!!
