It's looking like I will be able to make it out only for the day on saturday. I will probably need a taxi to the island, but I want to get out and meat some people. If anyone with a boat could PM me a cell number or a way to get in touch. i'd greatly appreciate it.

I have never used my cell phone out on the lake, never had a reason to, but I want to say yes. I get reception at my inlaws place, about a mile from the island.

I think I do recall sending a picture from my phone while on the island so yes there is cell reception!

Hey, kinda last minute, but I happened on to a guy selling shrimp on the side off the road today so I stopped and chatted with him. He's selling Georgetown shrimp, heads off but not devined, fresh off the boat (never frozen). He's selling the same 35/40 count that I would get from the store (raised in Korea, I think) for $7 per pound. Anything over 5 pounds he could do for $6.50 per pound. Unless there is a strong opinion for me to get the frozen, Korean, devined shrimp. . . I will cover the additional cost (a whopping $5.00

) and get the local shrimp. I have already put in an order with him for 10 lbs which he will deliver to me on Friday. He's headed to Georgetown tomorrow to get fresh shrimp and if I choose not to get the shrimp from him I can call him and cancel the order.

Any objections ?
