I have discussed with Fulminated about purchasing the shrimp for the boil and have determined that it would be easier for me to pickup the shrimp and have my mother-in-law store it for us until Sat afternoon. Once I have a source located, I will post the price/pound and we can decide from there how much to get.

The family & I are going to Cascade lake up here in Hendersonville, this Sunday-Wednesday, and I'm looking forward to getting on the lake at 6am in the kayak.
There's nothing like being on a glass-smooth lake at daybreak. The peaceful tranquility, listening to the forest around you coming to life, and sipping a hot cup of joe. What a great way to start the day!!

Amen Brother, I do that here sometimes on my lake where I live minuets from Boone Lake. Last time I went I saw a family of raccoons, a hawk and only ran into a couple of happy elderly fisherman in a jon boat who were all smiles and were content to set a chat a spell...I love living here in upper east Tn!!!As each day passes, I'm looking forward to this hang more and more.

Checked on prices of shrimp yesterday and found that we should expect "wild caught" shrimp to run about $10 - $14 per pound. Walked into my local grocery store (Publix) and they have farm raised shrimp on sale for $4.99 per pound (reg. $5.99). Any comments in either direction?

go for the store-bought farm raised stuff. It will probably be deveined. Nobody likes crunchy shrimp *cough*

I made a boil a month ago with grocery store headless & devained shrimp and it was good!
