If you haven't seen it, you might want to look at the chart on this page before you sit down.

If you use larger sizes of rope, which most of us do not, they may provide sufficient strength. I think I'll stick with my whoopie slings.

That would depend on your definition of "us". If "us" is gram weenies, then it's amsteel all the way and the cleats will be a problem. If "us" is just hammock hangers in general, you can start with all of the Hennessy owners who would love to get away from that danged figure-8 lashing but aren't willing to dismantle their hammock and replace the line. If Griz finds out that these cleats really work as advertised and there is a cleat size that will fit on the stock Hennessy line, there are going to be a lot of really happy Hennessy owners.

Good point! I ditched the stock HH suspension many moons ago so completely forgot about that stiff/heavy rope and the goofy figure-8 knot. For those that do have the stock suspension then the cleats may hold but would want to see what long term effects of crushing the rope had. LOL that everyone is waiting for Grizz to put his backsides on the line. Anyone else brave enough to test???
Call me crazy but I just hang on buntline hitches an AmSteel Blue. It doesn't get much lighter then that and it's actually an incredibly strong knot.
I'm all for leaving the gimmicks at home.
