I got a Lafuma Extreme 600 synthetic bag about six months ago on clearance for about $30. It weighed 21 oz in the stuff sack when I got it and it is rated for 45 degrees but I would guess the low 50s is more of the realistic bottom end for it.

Being in Arizona, this was the perfect warm weather top insulation for me and today I decided to hack into it and make a top quilt out of it. I'm waiting for my wife to get home with the camera but it was a success over all.
Ended up with a 45 degree summer synthetic top quilt that weighs 13.9oz in the stuff sac and a lightweight hood that I salvaged from the portion I removed. That comes in at a whopping 1.75oz.
Whee!
