Reminder why ground sleeping is a pain.

Having to overnight at CCS airport I broke out the pad and tq. Even thought I had a pad over the hard, level, smooth Terrazzo the lack of sleeping comfort reminded me why I really like hanging in a hammock. We are the blessed ones. Pity to those ground dwellers who have yet to realize the virtues of a hammock.

I'm adding a WB Traveler to the carry-on emergency kit. Never know. Might get lucky and find couple posts ~12 feet apart.

I hear ya. I am about to head out into the backyard to sleep on the ground with my girlfriend testing her new sleeping bag. She doesn't hang. Yet.

Yes, I sleep in a hammock. Please pass the Grey Poupon.

I often have a hammock in my carry-on. Underwear, toothbrush, iPod, hammock. You know, only the essentials.

and when the whole rig weighs less than a bottle of soda, it can hardly be called excess weight. (that is hammock and suspension, not tarp and insulation.)

I now really, really, really want to see a picture of a hammock hung up in an airport. And another picture of what happens when security sees it

I'm at the point where I not only prefer a hammock over sleeping on the ground, I also like it better than my bed! Side sleeping is making my shoulders hurt but in the hammock any position is comfortable.

CCS is the code for Caracas, where I was raised. They certainly wouldn't have been surprised if you HAD found a place to hang.

I now have the fancy grown-ups setup: switchback, whoopies, BWDD tarp etc. The Byer's Moskito Traveler will always go on all trips, in case..... 16 oz with integrated bug net..no tarp or suspension in this weight.
