    Dynaglide Suspension Problems?

Hey gang, I'm interested to see if anyone has had any issues with Dynaglide as the suspension. It's rated for 1000lbs, which means the break strength is more than that, and splicing doesn't reduce strength the way knots do, so it's not de-rated by much for whoppies and whatnot - which means the numbers look good.

    So... anyone?

I ask because I'm pondering swapping out my hammocks (at least a good number of them) with this line and would like to hear all your real world results.

    Thanks,
    Scott L.

No issues, i weigh 155, sometimes it can be a lil stubborn to increase the size of the whoppie loop once its had an overnight to bite into the tiny diameter line, but with a lil push upward on the bury it comes undone easily. No issues so far, swap them out. If your lightening up, why not swap out your ridgelines for adjustable 1.75mm lash/zing it ones too while your at it? Sgt rock also had good results.Nbe sure to double wrap the larks head or sheathe in paracord, I duble wrap and pt a sheath on it.

340 here, no issues. your good to go.

Hard to believe, I know, but this stuff is strong for its size. A few hammocks with dg have 50-70 nights sleeping indoors. No problems.

Opie even could not believe that I was using it for my whoopies, but it works, and its so small/less bulky. Bright green seemed to be better to work with, over the orange, iirc. The orange was reported to be stickier. ywmv. (your whoopies may vary)

275 here and I've used it on both bridges and gathered ends.

When I destroyed one it gave around 900 pounds.

The vinyl coating on it does make it a bit sticky at the bury, but nothing that inhibits use.

Scott - Line is usually rated at its actual strength. No safety factor.

No issues with the 2 mm DynaGlide line itself or the Whoopie Sling suspension I made with it.

My only concern has been the connection with the huggers. I use rope huggers and a nacrabiner between the rope huggers and the DynaGlide Whoopie Sling. The rope hugger and nacrabiner are both 3 mm diameter.

My concern is that the 2 mm diameter of the Dynaglide may cut through the 3 mm nacrabiner.

I've kept a close eye on the situation and have not observed any "cutting" as yet, but it is still early in the game.

It would be a simple matter to make a field replacement for the nacrabiner, but I need to catch it before it fails. If it does.

Teedee I carry a few extra nacras. I use one for bear bagging via pxt method, another in case of failure, another in case some connector on a pack breaks. I make mine real small so they weigh nearly nothing. Just make a few extras.
