    One piece tarp with doors

I have been looking at the warbonnet page and really like the tarps with the add on doors but I am wondering if anyone makes a tarp with the doors already integrated so it is a single piece of material.

I have been using the factory supplied tarp on my HH and would like to get something with a little more coverage.

Welcome , any big rectangle tarp can be configured in the "door" style. Cat cut or straight rectangle.
Stroll thru the gallery, or watch shugs vids. backwoods daydreamers site has some good pics as well of door style tarps.

Checking out the gallery now, thanks. What is the benefit of the cat cut?

The cat cut makes it easier to get a tight pitch on the tarp.

I have a black Silnylon, 12x10 MacCat with 5 tie outs per side (so you can close the doors).
The expected OES build quality and the weight (per Brian) ~ 19.4 oz

I have a large rectangular 4.5x3m tarp which can be rigged to have doors.

It has five tie-outs along the edges of the long side, if I tie the two inner ones to the ground I can then take the outers at an angle and create doors. I only had a play this weekend but it seems to work well.

Is the "Winter Dream" similar to what you're talking about?

There's benefit to Warbonnet's method over mine though - where they're removable, you can leave them home when you deem them unnecessary to save a few ounces. This is the better choice if you want just one tarp with doors, but are also a serious gram counter.

Mine are always there, which also has it's bonuses. And they can be swung up out of the way when unwanted.

Thanks for the info guys, I will take a look at these.

I run a HH right now and the fly/tarp connects to the line supporting the hammock. I have used 550 cord to elevate the fly in hot weather or when I want more visibility out the hammock. Other than that, what is the benefit to have a separate fly from the hammock which is what I see a lot of people running?

a couple advantages...(off the top of my head)
    1. You don't have to deploy the tarp in good weather
    2. A wet tarp can get your hammock wet if stored together
    3. When connected together, a large tarp will sag when you get into the hammock
    4. you can change tarps for different seasons

    I'm sure there are others...

My DIY Speer-inspired 8x10 rectangular tarp has 4 tie-outs per long side... By tying the two inner tie-outs to the ground, the remaining triangle can be tied as a door. I tie my "doors" to the opposite side with a bit of shock cord and a slippery half hitch-- Makes it easy to get in and out without opening the doors if the shock cord isn't too tight...
