Yeah man I knew their were 10,000,000 and 1 reasons I married Mrs. LRR one of them being her understanding of my hammock addiction and supporting it. Meaning I'm in for Friday night through at least Saturday afternoon. I will know by Wednesday if I can stay for the pot luck or not which depends on if Mrs. LRR can come. Hopes that's not to short of notice. If she comes then well both be their for pot luck and if she does not then I gotta head home sat afternoon to spend some of my b day weekend with her. Go figure my Mrs.LRR wants to take me out to dinner the night before my b day which is on Sunday. can't wait to hang with old friends and new friends alike.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

If it will be anything like the times I have been able to go... too late does not arrive until the food is gone. (Sometime after the raffle and just before the final cleanup.)
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

I will be bringing Tyvek housewrap to the hang. I have some scraps that are residential window sized (amazingly enough). I will give the scraps away, but bribery with cookies etc. is encouraged. Please PM me if you want a scrap for groundcloth or whatever.

    Thumbs up

Reminder of what's going on at MAHHA.

The only thing changed is a Side by Side Pack Comparison on Saturday. Bring your pack to the pavilion so hikers can see a side-by-side comparison of the packs. Please tie a tag to your pack with your name, pack name, weight, volume size, waistbelt size. We will have a hiker in charge of the table to make sure all packs get back to their proper owners.

    ************************************************** *************

What’s happening at the Fall MAHHA
Anything and everything subject to change or cancellation for any reason -- don’t get attached.

Friday Afternoon - Set up your hanging spot on the hill above the Crampton Gap AT shelter -- ½ mile in from parking lot following old forest road. Look for ribbon tied to tree for right path. Meet and greet other campers

Friday Dinner – on your own

Friday Dark-Thirty – campfires at hang site. Hopefully a song or three or eight by Loser. Our camping area is a half mile in. Close enough for several people to hike in campfire wood. No out-of-state wood. Only Maryland wood. Bring your camp chairs, your stories, camp songs. Huddle up around the fire with the only other people in the world who understand your addiction.

Saturday Dutch's World's Greatest Hiker Breakfast - Dutch & helpers Time: Ask Dutch!

Saturday After Breakfast – Open House Tours at Campsite

Saturday Lunch – on your own. Dutch & bunch go out to lunch.

Saturday Afternoon Stuff at Pavilion – 1:30 PM

    What’s gong on? . . . . . . . Hanger in Charge (call me “HIC”)
!) Pack Shake Down. . . . . . . . . Oh-No, Hooch, greenlespaul - Bring your packed pack and experts will tell you what to keep and what to ditch.
    2) Packs Side-By-Side . . . . . . . .“HIC” needed simply to make sure all packs get back to their owners. Bring your pack and let other campers make comparisons. MacPacks, ULA, Ospreys, Aarns, REI. etc. We’re always trying to compare packs by information. Here’s a chance to compare them side by side. Please tie a tag to your pack with your name, pack name, weight, volume size, waistbelt size.
    3) Stove Cookoff! . . . . . . . . . . Happy Camper. It's an unofficial race to a boil. Bring any stove/pot setup you want (including lids and windscreens). We'll time different stove categories to see who boils 2 cups of water the fastest.
    4) Make Some Huaraches. . . . . . Pedro (Private message Pedro that you wanna make 'em so he can bring enough supplies.)

    Hangers showing off cool stuff
Dutch showing off “to be determined”
Mac & WV showing off tensegrity hammock stands (Jay contributing hammocks)
Looking for anyone that wants to bring Dixon Roller Pack or any Aarn Packs.

    Saturday 5-ish pm
Potluck Dinner & JRB Raffle – Cost: $10. Additional raffle tickets cost extra. Hamburgers, Hotdogs, Plates, Plasticware, Napkins supplied. Hangers bring drinks, side dishes and desserts. We’ll post a food poll on the Campout Forum. Bring your flashlight for the walk back to campsite in dark and extra clothing because it cools down fast at dinner.

Saturday Dark-Thirty – campfires . Camping area close enough to hike in wood. No out-of-state wood. Bring only Maryland wood.
