MAHHA is a great hang for folks new to HF. It lends itself to sharing and instruction, although all hangs I've attended are good about that. And it's twice a year!

Does anyone know if Scottish Pirate will be there? Does he own a hammock yet?

    Scottish Pirate?

I don't know him, but if I see someone in a kilt and an eye patch with a parrott on his shoulder....I'll let you know!

Gotta aree with this. I've never met a hanger I didn't like and I've never been to a hang that wasn't a great time! Group hangs like this are especially well suited to newbies because they get to see everyone's setups, ask questions, try test hangs, etc. The group hangs are what got me truly hooked into hammocking.

Figure this is a good time for my first post.

I'm new to hammock hiking/hanging and am considering bringing one on my AT thru next year instead of a tent.

This seems like it would be a great way for me to learn more about hammocks. Hopefully I'll see you all there.

Here's more reasons to come! Great raffle prizes! And I just got a surprise in the mail. PappaSmurf sent me 2 bugnets w/ stuff sacks for the raffle. #1= Noseeum Bugnet with 101" ridgeline x 53 = 7.60 oz. #2 = Tulle Bugnet with 101" ridgeline x 53" = 2.28 oz.

Thanks PappaSmurf! I know there will definitely be interest in these beauties!
