    Hennessy Hammock question

Quick question for all you Hennessy hammock owners out there - can they be used as a normal hammock by flipping them upside down (180 degrees) and lying on the bottom or would the centre ridge-line get in the way? If the centre ridge-line would get in the way, can it be loosened or removed?
    Thanks!!

You can create a removable ridgeline, but I think there may be some concern with the added stress on the mosquito netting.

When you turn them over, the ridgeline does get in the way. You can replace the ridgeline with a removeable ridgeline as a lot of folks have done, but as with most mods you probably void any HH warranty. Kindof like jailbreaking your iPhone. I think Hennessy recommends pulling the side of the hammock over so that the bugnetting wouldn't be underneath you, and laying on top of the whole thing. It's pretty comfortable that way actually.

For about $50 or so you can have a zipper mod done to the hammock which allows you to get the bugnet out of the way. I would suggest going that route. Folding the hammock is comfortable enough but hardly wide enough to really enjoy an open air hang. There is no chance of getting a diagonal lie from the folded hammock bed.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

Yep, I second that. Seems like you get the best of both worlds that way.

Check out this video from Hennessy:

It's not as comfortable as having the full width of the hammock available, but it's quick and easy for sitting in camp or whatnot
