It's nice to hear that there might be other kids there. My boy turned 8 today, but he plays great with kids of all ages. I hope we get to come make new friends!
The group is getting quite large ... we'll do a final head count again in October to see if anyone's plans have changed but if you're coming please make sure you are on the list.
We might have to split into two base camps but there are several areas where that will work and they are very close to each other. Not to worry for now ... we'll address that as time grows nearer.
There's a permit systerm in Linville Gorge ... this does not pertain to the base camps which are outside the wilderness area. Permits will be needed for any over night trips into the gorge, Friday or Saturday nights (Oct 29th or 30th) and can't be obtained till after Sept 1st. Again don't worry ... we'll address that in plenty of time.
Looking forward to this!

Sign me up as a strong maybe.
Will confirm in Oct.
I was wondering about that. At "My" Red River Gorge, I can think of a few of my favorite spots that would require breaking up into smaller groups if more than about 12 showed up. I know this is for "Later" but could we consider having 3 sites?
A & B for camping, with C somewhere in the middle / between for socializing & campfire talks.

Friendly reminder: Let's move the conversations over to here to keep this thread focused on the trip planning. Thanks.

Drat!
I still want to stay listed as a "Maybe" but I just got notified that my hours at work are being cut from 48 a week to 40, so 16 hrs OT a pay period are gone! SO, I may not be able to afford to drive from Cincinnati to the gorge.
"Corporate also took a 5% cut in pay" is the lie they told to reduce the rebellion of those that actually do the work.
