do you permethrin your tree huggers?

I know it's supposedly ok for clothing, and I do use it for that, but wondering if it would compromise my tree huggers. It's standard issue 1" poly webbing from Opie.
    Thanks,
    leigh

Permethrin won't compromise anything. Read this.

Are you a cat, a fish, or a bug?
Are you planning to spray it directly into your eyes, mouth, or other orifice?

If both of those are "no", stop worrying about it and go have fun.

I've been doing it for a couple years and no I'll effects on my straps. Not to mention it seems to keep ants off the hammock which is why I tried it in the first
    place.

Treating the huggers is a pretty neat idea. Keep those creepy crawlies from coming down the suspension line into the hammock.

But of course if you are a "true" gram weinie you would only treat the "required" length of suspension line to prevent those whittle guys from tight-roping it to your tarp and hammock.

And if you are a real anti-bug person you never even venture out of your bubble.

But if you want to enjoy the Piney woods....there is nothing wrong with using that permethrin juice and letting it cure on your gear.

BTW-What about those Parachute-less guys that drop on your tarp or hammock, or the aeriolists that can hang on the end of a wind blown webbing string (just like Spiderman)? LOTHFLMAO

I am a newb to hammock camping. What are people's thoughts about applying permethrin to the hammock itself?

No problems that I can see with doing that. Might be a good idea to do if you have a single 1.1 hammock where mosquitoes might be able to bite through the bottom but if you have a double layer it really isn't necessary to spray the hammock.

I have a Hennessy Expedition. Guess I'll have to find a way to get my hands on some permethrin. I cannot find it for sale anywhere in Canada.

I apply the stuff to everything and have been for 3 years solid. Never had a problem.

Does spiderman sleep on a hammock? I can see an easy solution for him to keep bugs from crawling to far onto his webbing.
