I was just about to order a tarp from him. Now I'm kind of nervous about it.

You'll get it, and it's high-quality when you do, but like a lot of custom gear there's a wait. I wouldn't be worried unless you're against a deadline.

I think of OES tarps like I do 'found money'. You know, you take out the winter coat for the first time since last season and in the pocket you find a $20 that you had forgotten about. Makes me happy every single time.

Same is true with OES tarps. I order one, then get distracted by something else. One day down the road, there's a package on my front porch and Genuine Draft tapping her toe wanting to know what I bought now. I have no idea! Then I see the shipping label. At this point, it's a wise man that gets out of my way cause I'm excited.

You won't have to wait a whole season for one of his tarps, although it might feel like it. But even with the wait, it's a product that will add nothing but value to your gear collection. Wonderful and marvelous tarps.
    Trust nobody!

For a reference point, ordered a MacCat Deluxe on 3/20 and received it on 4/28. It's a darn nice piece of gear but they do take a while to get. His current schedule may be different.

I am a Black Powder Cartridge Rifle shooter and am used to waits for some things that are measured in years.

As a recent customer of OES my recommendations to Brian would be:

    1) Respond to your customers in a timely manner.

    2) It is far better to tell your customers there is a 2 month wait and then deliver in 1 month than to take longer than you tell them.

    +1 on that one.

I agree with everyone's sentiments. It took me over a month to get mine too, but the quality is well worth the wait. As others have mentioned, in the cottage industry everything is custom and only one or two people working to make items. With the demand he has as well as his school and other committments it's understandable. Keep on waiting, you won't be disappointed!
