I started using an REI inflatable sit pad inside my TQ foot box and it works well. I like it better than using a pad outside the foot box too.

I dont use any leg pad at 50*F or above...
I use a climashield TQ (cut small and light...7oz) and I think that the synthetic TQ insulation gives me all the leg insulation I need at mild temps..
My UQ is a summer down 2/3 length from Hangnout's daughter Leigh...weight is about 8oz I think
    15oz for both!

Nice site Mike. I didn't know you got a website up and running. Congrats. I'll look into it.

Hi Mak. Just down the street from you in Arlington. Did the AT from Route 50 to Route 7 the weekend of may 15 with my new Arrowhead Equip. 1S Lost River 2/3rd Under Quilt. Very light and perfect for around here. 2/3rd works great but I always carry a Montbell down vest to use as a pillow. In a pinch I just use it to cover the footbox if needed. Check it out from Paul at Arrowhead: http://arrowheadequipment.webs.com/a...s/show/1446900

It is a bit wider then all the others mentioned so you never need to worry about it getting out of place. I can post pictures tonight if you would like to see it.

Hey, that's awesome. I am hoping to get out to SNP sometime in the coming weeks. What is the weight of the AHE 2/3 quilt that you have?

I will weigh it again to be safe or Paul can chime in if he sees this but recollection is 14 oz.

Down to 50 degrees? I'd definitely go with one of Mac's full length, 8oz IX underquilts for $60. And no more fussing with a foot pad! I've taken my IX underquilt out the past couple of weekends and the 50's should be a slam dunk - the temp limit seems to be in the low 40's somewhere right now, but I'm still experimenting around with it. It's a nice minimal solution that packs up to about the size of a grapefruit.

    I don't think I've seen Mac's IX UQs. Is there a link?
