    newbie from the old world

    Good day boys (and girls?),

I have been hangin' out with my HH for a number of years now and was never aware of the fact that such a great forum even existed! Congrats all of you and I see already now that there is a wealth of experience accumulated here. While at the end of the day I will probably be a net receiver rather than a net contributor considering my limited experiences, I still hope to become a valuable member of this forum.
Anyhow, looking forward to a good time, good nights, water and always plenty of dry wood.
Attached please find some places I've been to with my trusted friend:

As you'll see, I've mostly done fair weather hammocking, a quilt is therefore on the list.

Anyhow, the first one is from Africa during a trip with my family to Namibia. Quiet an experience to hear and see walk wild elephants right by you in the middle of the night!
The next one looks like the Tropics too, but it ain't: sea kayaking trip with a good buddy on the Baltic shore.
Third one is quite a different setup: Hangin' loose almost diagonally in the Bavarian Alps. 45° slope? No problem if you got a hammock!
Fourth one is quite different: Yep, that a vintage 90ft sailboat off the Croatian shore. The ideal sleeping method when it's rocking and rollin'!

Welcome! Great pics. Love the one on the boat. It seems that you hang your hammock up very tightly. Is there any advantage to this as opposed to the traditional 30 degree angle hang?

Yes, I sleep in a hammock. Please pass the Grey Poupon.

Welcome to the forum. Nice pics. Would love to see and hear more about Africa. For your HH you might want to check out the available zipper mod. from 2QZQ. Allows for side entry and bugnet removal if you want it.

Stories from the wilds automatically make you a contributor we want on Hammock Forums.
Experiences are what matter, the rest is just tinkering so we don't have to do chores around the house.
