Cool My first Hammock Hang Totally DIY...Sorta!

Hey Guys and Gals! I just wanna start off by saying thank for the wellspring of knowledge that is shared on this forum! Shug thanks for your countless and entertaining videos, your the main reason I've started hanging. And Mac, thanks for the IX man, its been put to good use. You guys are my inspiration on all things hammock and some others!
This weekend is my inaugural hang in the mountains near Eagles Nest, NM with some family friends that are taking bets on whether I'm gonna freeze at night! The forecast says 35 low and 75 high so it'll be a good test for the ole' DIY IX UQ & TQ, BB clone and ACU maccat! Everything is DIY except for the whoopie slings that i got from Arrowhead Equipment.
Hopefully on Monday I'll have some pic and video of my first endeavor into the Wonderful World Of Hammock Hanging and I hope I don't have my first encounter with CBS or too many critters!
Thanks All and have a great Memorial Day weekend!

Having been in the TX panhandle, I know why you are having to go to NMx to find a place to hang...
have a great weekend, and get the last laugh at the relatives! KM

So i survived my first hang and I'm hooked! The temperature got down to the low 40's at night and the DIY fleece TQ and UQ did great. My only complaint about the IX is the problem with condensation building up in the footbox, but other than that an awesome test of my DIY gear.

Thanks guys! It was an awesome first hang weather wise. it was good to wake up in the morning with my back rested and hear all the ground dwellers moaning and whining about their backs!

AccidentProne: I got the ACU fabric at Hancock fabric in Tulsa, OK, when i was home visiting family. It said it was vinyl backed ripstop. It was the closes thing to Sil that I could find without having to order on the .com.

So has anyone else ran into the same problem I have with the IX and condensation?

Your gear looks great! Fantastic job on all the DIY stuff.

Here's a little on the condensation issue. Maybe Mac will chime in with more info.
