    Newbie in California

I am a newbie to hammock camping and DIY gear making. I am fascinated by all of this. I've alread made a HH Clone and slept in it last weekend. I loved it. I just kind of clipped an old down comforter under the hammock as an underquilt and was nice and toasty all weekend. I don't know how cold it got though but think it was in the 50s.

Hey there...It's great to hear that there are more local hangers!

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it to you, but in just a week a whole bunch o' hammock campers are planning an outing to Henry W. Coe park.

It'll probably be a great place to try stuff out, see other people's gear, get ideas for your next project, etc.

One of these days you boys from Central Cal are gonna have to plan a trip up here to the real Northern Cal and spend a night or two hanging in our Northern variety of Redwood trees
