Hammock (Unsponsored) Sock again saves the day.

On my long section hike this month I made a friend in Mass. who ended up borrowing my BlackBird, WB tarp, and 3s Yeti. He had been converted to hammockdom, had ordered a WB Blackbird setup but wouldn't have received it in time for his upcoming section hike in Maine. My hike ended and I handed over the kit, hit the road south and found myself camping/paddling in the Allegheny Nat.Forest. Problem was that my hammock with bug netting (the WB BB) was headed to Maine! Thankfully I'd packed the WB Traveler. When I got what would appear to be way down south in north western PA I figured the bugs (well compared to New England) would have abated- WRONG! but luckily the last time I used the Traveler was in GSMNP the month prior and I'd left the Unsponsored Hammock Sock attached. The hammock sock again proved to be multifunctional in keeping the bugs from biting me and worked great in conjunction with the MacIX UQ.

Gargoyle, I posted a pic of the sock in the gallery with me standing up and it over me.
Also I think there is a glimpse of the hammock sock in this vid I posted in the trip reports:

Mac-you are ABSOLUTELY correct in that a hammocksock and the MacIX are a perfect union.
It is my hope that Unsponsored in the UK is working on a hammocksock that is waterproof/breathable (maybe out of Pertex) that for minimalist hammocking could allow the tarp to stay at home! Wouldn't that be a dream!
Mac- I want to order a double MaxIx for the WB BB and Traveler----how do I order one? From you? From Tree-to-Tree? I've been in the woods too long!

Not sure I would want to make one out of silnylon, but we can talk about it.

who said anything about sil-nyl for a hammocksock? that would be crazy unless you want a sauna! I mentioned Pertex because I think it is highly water resistant at the least and also breathable.

You are right, you didn't... but it can be used to prototype air exchange methods, two of which designs I have in my head.

Well def. keep up the prototyping! Very satisfied with what prototyping rendered in the MacIX...and for those on the fence concerning this UQ I've just ordered my second one. You know what they say, if you get something you really like then get another one!
